Blackwattle Artisan Hand Dyed Yarn
As a trained artist, Angela uses her skills learnt whilst completing a Bachelor of Visual Arts (James Cook University Townsville), to create masterpieces on yarn. Paint on canvas = paint on yarn!
As a visual artist, Angela has a passion for creating colours and emotions using yarn and dye as her canvas. Angela hand-dyes all the yarn in her dye studio located in the farm shed.
When not in her studio dyeing yarn, Angela can be found running her alpaca farm, called Blackwattle Alpacas, along with her husband Matthew. Angela loves nothing more than spending time with their alpacas and getting to know their personalities. Feeding their alpacas, cuddling a cria or two (baby alpaca) and then going to work dyeing alpaca yarn makes up a typical ‘workday’ for Angela.
Her studio is filled with colour and Angela takes inspiration from their farm and the surrounding nature to create masterpieces on yarn! Being hand-dyed, with love, all skeins are special in their own right, each skein is an individual – no two are exactly the same.
